About Damage Control

A collision has opened a shell-plating breach — isolate the flooding compartments with watertight doors before the ingress rate overcomes the bilge pumps and the vessel loses positive stability. Covers SOLAS Chapter II-1 damage stability requirements, watertight door operation and testing records, sounding pipe routines to monitor ingress, and the Damage Control Plan layout every crew member must be able to read.

Flooding response speed directly determines outcome. This game simulates the first five minutes of a flooding emergency — the window in which correct compartment isolation makes the difference between a controllable situation and a capsize.
